Hypnotic: F1 race car filmed doing a burnout with an infrared camera

I’ve now found my new favourite way to watch Formula 1 racing. If you’ve never watched Formula 1 in your life, you might be interested to know that it is among the most technical sports in the world – enormous amounts of money is sunk into research and development on the cars, some of which is eventually appropriated for everyday cars. Other times though, the cars are used for pure viewer enjoyment, racing generally, but sometimes burnouts too which Red Bull RB8 has recently done at the Gamma Racing Day in Assen. While a F1 race car doing a burnout isn’t really anything special, it’s the thermal filming process, courtesy of FLIR, which really makes this interesting.
