Google Project Fi Featured

Googles Project Fi Can be Awesome but it’s been a little Google-ized

Googles Project Fi – The Sign up Process I decided it was time to upgrade my phone.  The screen on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 has a crack across the top corner and I’m getting pretty tired of the slowdowns I keep experiencing from the Samsung TouchWiz interface.  I love Android but I want a pure Android experience so I’ve decided to choose the Google Nexus brand of phones.  They are pure Android and the latest batch are some of the most powerful Android devices you can buy. In the process of choosing a Google Nexus device, I also decided that I’m going to give Googles Project Fi Cell Service a chance.  Project Fi, for those who don’t already know, is Googles own cell phone service that works in a slightly different and much more simplistic manner to other cellphone providers. Project Fi uses T-Mobile and Sprint networks for its mobile networks access.  ...

GoPro Hero4 Firmware update will bring 720p 240fps slow-mo and more [Video]

The GoPro has really done an excellent job at making their brand a house hold name. Even the less technically people I know have some knowledge of what a GoPro is. For us technical people though, it is all about what it can do beyond knowing it shoots video and is tiny. A new firmware update is being worked on for the Hero4 edition of the GoPro and it is bringing some amazing improvements to what it can do for you. One of the biggest features will be the 720p video at 240fps. That is HD slow-motion ability that lets you slow the action down and catch the detail too. Pretty awesome, right? Beyond the slow-motion aspect, the firmware update is said to also bring in time-lapse video as well. Yes, it did it previously, but now it will take the shots and do its job on the camera versus ...

I’m trying to test out the drone and see what it can do so I can write a full review for you guys but it doesn’t help if the motor fails on my Walkera QR X350 Pro at about 400 feet and drops to the ground. I just wanted to share this slight hiccup we just had today.  We’ve sent an email to Walkera to try and work out what could have possibly caused this failure but that still doesn’t help when we have a snapped landing gear and Walkera G-2D Gimbal camera mount. Here the video for your amusement.  Skip to the end if you just want to see the failure and the drone drop from the skies.

Choosing The Best Quadcopter Drone for Beginners or Kids

If you’re anything like me you’ll be doing a lot of research this holiday season finding the best value and quality products for those family gifts.  This season, one of my kids has asked Santa for a Quadcopter.  I’ve never flown a Quadcopter but I have played around with some of the cheap remoter controlled helicopters available.  One of the big issues with gifts like these is weighing up the pros and cons.  Do you buy a cheap Quadcopter because you know it’s probably going to get crashed and damaged or do you get something that will last longer and has plenty of spare parts available for repairs. If you’d tried anything remote controlled that flies, you’ll know that they are not the easiest toys to control, especially the cheaper ones.  Paying extra usually means the flyers have better controls and self-stabilization sensors, which also means they are easier to ...
