Fallout 4 announcement

Fallout 4 announcement coming on June 3rd, launching to PC, current and old-gen consoles

I’ve been dying to hear the words “Fallout 4 announcement” for far too long now, but it appears the wait is almost over. On the Bethesda hosted Fallout website, a “Please Stand By” splash can be seen counting down towards zero – at the time of writing there is just over 3 hours left before what is presumably the official announcement of a new Fallout game, which is expected to be named Fallout 4. This theory has been bolstered after Reddit user ChakiDrH went through Bethesda’s website source code and dug out some interested tidbits, chief among which is that the website’s domain is for Fallout 4. Other useful details include pre-order links for the game and exist for PC, PS4, Xbox One, and also older gen consoles, PS3 and Xbox 360. It’s been 7 years since Fallout 3 and the Fallout franchise’s cultish following has been reaching a fever pitch over ...

R.I.P. Prey 2: Bethesda confirms sequel has been targeted for elimination

One game has been radio silent for some time now, and one that I have been greatly looking forward to. Unfortunately, it was announced today at PAX Australia that the game, Prey 2, has been cancelled by publisher Bethesda. Bethesda Vice President, Pete Hines, had this to say about Prey 2: “It was game we believed in, but we never felt that it got to where it needed to be – we never saw a path to success if we finished it… It wasn’t up to our quality standard and we decided to cancel it. It’s no longer in development. That wasn’t an easy decision, but it’s one that won’t surprise many folks given that we hadn’t been talking about it… Human Head Studios is no longer working on. It’s a franchise we still believe we can do something with — we just need to see what that something is.” ...

‘The Evil Within’ will do something with lots of blood at QuakeCon 2014, but it’s not what you Think

If there’s one thing we know is going to be in The Evil Within, it’s blood. The survival horror game by Tango Gameworks and published by Bethesda Softworks has piqued interest ever since it was first revealed with a very confronting live action trailer which featured copious amounts of the stuff. It is said that The Evil Within is going to be at QuakeCon 2014, and while there is going to be blood there, it’s not the kind that you might expect. Using the hashtag #TheGoodWithin, Bethesda has actually teamed up with the American Red Cross to host a blood donation drive at QuakeCon and help gather that precious red stuff. If you’re somehow concerned that you’re not getting anything out of donating your bodily fluids (besides the joy of possibly saving someone’s life), Bethesda has made sure you’ll get your hands on “an official The Evil Within chill pack” which ...

Bethesda’s Pete Hines on Doom 4: “We need to prove ourselves all over Again”

When I saw Doom 4 teased earlier this year, I have to admit my heart skipped a beat. In that space of time, every pants-wetting moment of the previous Doom games managed to flash before my eyes; I bet a similar thing happened to all of you who have been scared to death by Doom games too. That’s not a bad thing either; it’s what Doom games are to us, and I’m sure many of us are eagerly anticipating the next installment in the series. However, Bethesda VP of Marketing and PR, Pete Hines, has a slightly different outlook and is approaching the hype of Doom 4 very carefully. Having just published and rebooted the Wolfenstein series in quite impressive fashion with Wolfenstein: The New Order, Hines says that Bethesda is looking at Doom 4 a lot like they way they looked at the new Wolfenstein: “… it’s been so long since ...
