5 things House of Wolves changed in Destiny

Bungie: Your progress in Destiny will carry over to its sequel

It’s no secret that Bungie has made a 10-year commitment to the Destiny franchise, something which is still somewhat in its infancy with its first game. Despite this, it looks like Bungie has already started looking forward to Destiny‘s sequel and how the current game is going to affect subsequent games. Bungie Community Manager, David “DeeJ” Dague spoke with IGN and said that your progress in Destiny will carry over to its sequel. The idea behind this is that you will continue to grow and experience new things with your Guardian. “The idea is that the Guardian you have created is something you can bring along with you on that adventure. If you take a look at the way people have played other games for a long period of time, they’ve had a relationship with the same character for a very long time,” says DeeJ. It’s definitely an intriguing idea and one ...

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series

The Game of Thrones video game will launch starting on December 2nd says Telltale Games

When Telltale Games continued to promise that their latest game, the highly anticipated Game of Thrones video game, would definitely be released this year, we couldn’t help but wonder if the games studio was cutting it a little thin with just over a month left in the year. As it turns out, we had nothing to worry about as the studio today announced on its Twitter account that the game will launch starting on December 2nd and staggered depending on the platform. First cabs of the rank will be PC, Mac and PS4 on December 2nd, followed by Xbox One and Xbox 360 on December 3rd and iOS on December 4th. Perhaps unusually, the PS3 version will languish behind with a December 9th release date, and the Android version has only received a general “December” approximation. #GameOfThrones A @TelltaleGames Series Ep 1 #IronFromIce 12/2 PC/Mac; PS4 SCEA 12/3 Xbox One & 360; ...

Xbox Games with Gold

December’s Xbox Games with Gold have now been revealed

It’s the end of the month already and Microsoft knows just the thing to cheer us up: revealing December’s Xbox Games with Gold. In case you’ve never heard of Games with Gold, Microsoft has been running this initiative where Xbox Live Gold subscribers receive one or two free games a month to keep forever as long as they download within the month, or half-month. We’ll start off with the Xbox One’s offering. Starting December 1st (and ending December 31st), Xbox One Gold subscribers will be able to download and play Worms Battlegrounds for free. As the old adage says, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, and that applies wholeheartedly here with Battlegrounds adopting the age-old 2D, turn-based combat that saw the franchise rise to prominence in the first place. Battlegrounds will be the only game that Xbox One owners get through December, so make sure you get your money’s worth. ...

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series

A teaser trailer drops for Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series

While Telltale Games gave us some juicy details about its upcoming adventure series, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series, last week, today they’ve given us a teaser trailer that gives us our first official look at what the game is actually going to look like. As expected, Telltale has adopted its tried and true animated graphical style, and the trailer appears to show quite a few of the TV show’s characters as well as referring to the Forrester’s whose House you will represent during the game. Check it out: The first episode of six is called Iron from Ice and will presumably set the stage for the House of Forrester who appear to be quite fond of the ironwood trees that they live amongst. It will be interesting to see if Telltale has recruited the actual actors from the TV show to voice their video game likeness or whether ...

iron banner 2.0

Iron Banner 2.0 is going to descend on Destiny very soon

The first official Iron Banner event that graced Destiny didn’t go particularly smoothly. While it touted the ability to really get a feel for how effective your gear was (something that regular Crucible multiplayer negates), players who played during the Iron Banner did not find this at all, with low level characters still able to dominate just based on skill, with plenty of other sore points to say the least. Not one to ignore community advice (and berating), Bungie has gone and made some major changes for Iron Banner 2.0, which they say will begin very soon, potentially as soon as this week. Among the many changes that have been instituted in the Iron Banner 2.0, Bungie has now made Iron Banner a level specific event, with a minimum level of 20 required to enter (though lower level characters can join as part of a Fireteam). Other notable changes include the addition of Iron ...

Details drop about Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series

Telltale Games is a studio that has by now become synonymous with fantastic storytelling. Its gut-wrenchingly emotional The Walking Dead series showed that it could not only adapt TV show worlds to video games, but could tell masterful stories at the same time. So it’s no surprise that one of the world’s favourite TV shows, Game of Thrones, is getting the Telltale Games treatment, and we get our first details about the game today. Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series will be a six episode affair and will start with a episode titled “Iron from Ice“, focusing on the story of House Forrester who live at Ironrath, playing from five different perspectives of five different members of the House. The story will follow the events of The War of the Five Kings, and for those invested in the TV show, picks up its story somewhere at the end of Season ...

GTA: San Andreas HD

Recently released GTA: San Andreas HD on Xbox 360 is actually a mobile port

One of the most beloved Rockstar games to date is GTA: San Andreas, and to celebrate its 10th anniversary this year, Rockstar Games decided to release GTA: San Andreas HD on the Xbox 360, remastered for the last-gen console, or so we thought. It’s definitely not shabby looking, but at this point in the console’s life, we were expecting a little bit more in the graphical department, and the reason that’s the case is because GTA: San Andreas HD is actually a port of the game from the Android and iOS version. The discovery was made by Digital Foundry who recently tested the Android version on NVIDIA Shield and found the new Xbox 360 version to be an almost exact copy of that version. In fact, Digital Foundry says that: “Scaled up to 720p and beyond, even with the enhanced assets, it’s clear that the level of detail in the assets doesn’t really ...

Battlefield 4 CTE

Battlefield 4 Premium Members on any Platform Can Access CTE on the PC

The Battlefield 4 CTE, Community Test Environment, is a location where EA and Dice are testing out various bug fixes, tweaks and even aspects of the next DLC, Final Stand. Previously the CTE was only available to Battlefield 4 Premium members who played on the PC. It would seem that it has changed recently to include all premium members across all platforms. There is a catch though, you still need a PC to get in and play on the test environment. With that being said, everyone who has a premium membership on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One can download and access the CTE on their PC without having to buy the PC version of the game too. Your PC does need to be powerful enough to do some gaming on though. The process is pretty simple. Head over to the cte.battlelog.com/bf4/ webpage, login with your Origin ...

Plex for Xbox

Plex finds its way to Xbox 360 and Xbox One

Plex is without a doubt my favorite media serve application to date. The Plex team has apps across every major mobile platform, the major connected TV devices and even offers a dedicated Home Theater build if you have a PC set up on your TV as your media center. They work hard to implement new features, function and to bring the services to other devices that we all know and love. Today I am happy to announce that Plex is finally coming to Xbox 360 and Xbox One.   Don’t go freaking out just yet though. There are a few small details that you might want to know ahead of time. For instance, the Xbox One version of the application is available for immediate download as a preview for Plex Pass subscribers. Where as the Xbox 360 version of the app is not quite ready, but will be out soon ...

Xbox Games with Gold

October’s Xbox Games with Gold are revealed, featuring Chariot, Battlefield Bad Company 2and Darksiders II

It’s almost the end of the month so you know what time it is – that’s right, time to announce next months’ Xbox Games with Gold as part of Microsoft’s ongoing promotion to release free games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers on both Xbox 360 and Xbox One. First cab off the rank is the Xbox One’s offering, which in October will be Chariot. An ID@Xbox offering from Canadian developer, Frima, the game features deep cooperative aspects but can be enjoyed alone if none of your friends are online. The somewhat morbid premise of Chariot sees you take control of a Princess and her fiance as they navigate through the game’s 25 levels riding the late king’s coffin. Weird, perhaps, but it is free, and it looks intriguing to play with a buddy. Unfortunately, the Xbox One will again only be getting one new free game this month with Crimson Dragon going ...
