Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series

The Game of Thrones video game will launch starting on December 2nd says Telltale Games

When Telltale Games continued to promise that their latest game, the highly anticipated Game of Thrones video game, would definitely be released this year, we couldn’t help but wonder if the games studio was cutting it a little thin with just over a month left in the year. As it turns out, we had nothing to worry about as the studio today announced on its Twitter account that the game will launch starting on December 2nd and staggered depending on the platform. First cabs of the rank will be PC, Mac and PS4 on December 2nd, followed by Xbox One and Xbox 360 on December 3rd and iOS on December 4th. Perhaps unusually, the PS3 version will languish behind with a December 9th release date, and the Android version has only received a general “December” approximation. #GameOfThrones A @TelltaleGames Series Ep 1 #IronFromIce 12/2 PC/Mac; PS4 SCEA 12/3 Xbox One & 360; ...

Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay footage

New Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay footage will leave you feeling weak at the knees

We always knew the next Batman game was going to be something else, but this latest Batman: Arkham Knight gameplay footage has me properly excited now. It’s always something special when WB Games and Rocksteady Studios come together, and Batman: Arkham Knight looks no different, highlighting that fluid gameplay that we’ve come to love in previous Batman games and adding in seemless cutscenes that honestly make it hard to tell the bits that are gameplay and bits that are transitions. Take a look for yourself: The gameplay video follows Batman during his infiltration of Ace Chemicals to stop The Scarecrow and save Ace Chemicals’ workers. The bits from the video that I’m floored by are the sections incorporating the Batmobile which appear to be extremely well integrated into the core gameplay. Only time will tell if this is actually how the game will play when it’s released, but it has me hopefully for yet ...

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series

A teaser trailer drops for Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series

While Telltale Games gave us some juicy details about its upcoming adventure series, Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series, last week, today they’ve given us a teaser trailer that gives us our first official look at what the game is actually going to look like. As expected, Telltale has adopted its tried and true animated graphical style, and the trailer appears to show quite a few of the TV show’s characters as well as referring to the Forrester’s whose House you will represent during the game. Check it out: The first episode of six is called Iron from Ice and will presumably set the stage for the House of Forrester who appear to be quite fond of the ironwood trees that they live amongst. It will be interesting to see if Telltale has recruited the actual actors from the TV show to voice their video game likeness or whether ...

Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series

Details drop about Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series

Telltale Games is a studio that has by now become synonymous with fantastic storytelling. Its gut-wrenchingly emotional The Walking Dead series showed that it could not only adapt TV show worlds to video games, but could tell masterful stories at the same time. So it’s no surprise that one of the world’s favourite TV shows, Game of Thrones, is getting the Telltale Games treatment, and we get our first details about the game today. Game of Thrones: A Telltale Games Series will be a six episode affair and will start with a episode titled “Iron from Ice“, focusing on the story of House Forrester who live at Ironrath, playing from five different perspectives of five different members of the House. The story will follow the events of The War of the Five Kings, and for those invested in the TV show, picks up its story somewhere at the end of Season ...

GTA V will have first person perspective

Confirmed: GTA V will have first person perspective included in the Xbox One, PS4 versions

It almost seemed like a fantastical rumour at first, but today it was confirmed by Rockstar Games that GTA V will have first person perspective included in the PS4 and Xbox One versions releasing on November 18th. This will be a huge departure for the franchise which last changed player perspective moving from the top-down GTA 2 to the third-person GTA III which has been the staple ever since. Whether or not this is going to be something that sticks around in future games is yet to be seen, but it probably gives players on last-gen consoles another reason to pick it up again to play on Xbox One and PS4. In fact, Rockstar Games animation director, Rob Nelson, says that “We could’ve put it in the [last-gen version] but we were too busy making the game”. Fair enough, I guess. Check out the new gameplay trailer below which shows ...

Evolve Big Alpha extended for two more days, finally live on the PS4

The Evolve Big Alpha has been going on for the last three days, giving gamers a taste of what Evolve is going to play like in its final form, however if you’ve been trying to play on the PS4, you’ve so far been left high and dry due to a lack of PS4 support. Luckily, a PS4 firmware update has appeared which will finally allow you to take part along with the PC and Xbox One gamers. As a gesture of goodwill, 2K Games and Turtle Rock Studios are extending the Evolve Big Alpha on all platforms until November 4th, 12PM PST, which should give even the PS4 players a decent feel of what the game is going to feel like in the future. This isn’t the first time the PS4’s firmware has caused some issues with Destiny suffering a similar fate in the days after its release. I’ve been ...

Battlefield 4 CTE

Battlefield 4 Premium Members on any Platform Can Access CTE on the PC

The Battlefield 4 CTE, Community Test Environment, is a location where EA and Dice are testing out various bug fixes, tweaks and even aspects of the next DLC, Final Stand. Previously the CTE was only available to Battlefield 4 Premium members who played on the PC. It would seem that it has changed recently to include all premium members across all platforms. There is a catch though, you still need a PC to get in and play on the test environment. With that being said, everyone who has a premium membership on Playstation 3, Playstation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One can download and access the CTE on their PC without having to buy the PC version of the game too. Your PC does need to be powerful enough to do some gaming on though. The process is pretty simple. Head over to the cte.battlelog.com/bf4/ webpage, login with your Origin ...

Roccat Kave XTD 5.1 Digital PC Gaming Headset is an Affordable Performer for Any Level Gamer [Review]

I have only recently started to get more and more into PC gaming. It took a while. Mostly due to lack of equipment that was capable of playing higher end AAA titles coupled with the fact that I was never very found of playing online with other people. One can only replay the same single player story line for a game so many times before you need to venture to a the mulitplayer side. As gaming progresses, I am finding that there are more and more titles that are bringing online multiplayer only or mixed story-line with a heavy emphasis on muliplayer. To get the most out of these games you need to be able to communicate with others verbally. Let’s face it, trying to type out where you are, what you are doing or what you see really hinders your game play. To get the most out of it ...

The Crew

Ubisoft delays The Crew to December 2nd, with good reason

The Crew is an open world racing game that is being developed by Ivory Tower and Ubisoft. Over the last few months there have been a series of closed betas for PC and is currently underway for PS4 and Xbox One. The Crew was scheduled for a release on November 11th, but after reviewing the feedback and game data, Ivory Tower and Ubisoft will be pushing back the launch by almost a month to December 2nd. “We received a lot of valuable information from the recent PC and console betas,” says Creative Director Julian Gerighty. “We are now scrutinizing all of the player feedback so we can ensure that The Crew delivers the seamless open-world experience that meets everyone’s high expectations.” Some of the things they are looking to resolve and change is the option to remove the HUD so you can see more of the landscape while driving around ...

Titanfall IMC Rising

Titanfall IMC Rising DLC now available for PC and Xbox One

The third DLC (downloadable content) for Titanfall is now available for PC and Xbox One. IMC Rising will bring along 3 new maps for Pilots and Titans to battle it out on. You will get Blackwater which is a hidden bootlegging colony,  Sand Trap which is a facility built on top of a fuel reserve and Zone 18 which is a robotics facility. I just picked up the download via Origins on my PC. The update came in two waves, one 800-ish MB set of audio files and then a secondary 2.17GB set of game files. Polygon heard from EA and apparently they do not have a release date for the Xbox 360 yet. If you are impatiently waiting for the downloads to finish, check out the video below of the three new maps and let me know what you think.
