First trailer drops for Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Game Series

We were a little skeptical when we first heard about Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Game Series – a marriage of this generation’s best video game story teller and this gaming era’s biggest time sink for gamers of all ages didn’t really seem like something that should’ve fitted together. Yet, after watching the very first trailer for Minecraft: Story Mode unveiled at MineCon, I can safely say that I am very intrigued. Check out the trailer for yourself below:

While this will be the first time in a long time that Telltale Games hasn’t used its signature animation in a video game, Minecraft: Story Mode still looks like it will use the same storytelling format of heavy cutscenes with player input where choice is needed. As to whether Minecraft: Story Mode fits into the Minecraft world as it is today, CEO of Telltale Games, Kevin Bruner says:

“We’ve worked closely with the amazing team at Mojang to ensure this story is a natural fit for the Minecraft world fans already know and love. As Jesse, players will steer their own path through a tale of adventure and survival; all brought to life by an all-star cast. Through Telltale’s choice-based gameplay and a story spanning from the Nether to the Farlands, the End, and beyond, we can’t wait for fans to experience this new take on the beloved world of Minecraft.”

Minecraft: Story Mode - A Telltale Game SeriesLike I said: intrigued. The series is expected to be released on PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and Android and iOS (sorry Nintendo) sometime in 2015 so expect more news to become available in the near future. What do you think about Minecraft: Story Mode – A Telltale Game Series?
