The Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate debut trailer sets the scene in 1868 London

Ubisoft has finally given us what we’ve all been asking for: an assassin in a top hat. Just me? Anyway, Ubisoft has today unveiled its latest chapter in the Assassin’s Creed franchise, Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate, which has apparently done away with the oft-confusing numbering system again. The Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate debut trailer shows the protagonist, Jacob Frye, in London 1868 fighting for the working class, a Robin Hood of sorts. Check out the trailer below:

Just from watching the trailer, Syndicate seems a little different than its predecessors, if not only for the inclusion of gadgets like the grappling hook. Only time will tell if its different enough to separate itself as a great game by itself or just another Assassin’s Creed game with a different skin. One thing that will be different is that you will spend part of the game playing as a woman, which is a nice change for the male dominated series (Liberation is so long ago now).

Assassin’s Creed: Syndicate is due for release in October this year and will be available on Xbox One and PS4 – a PC version will follow at a later date.
