December’s Xbox Games with Gold have now been revealed

It’s the end of the month already and Microsoft knows just the thing to cheer us up: revealing December’s Xbox Games with Gold. In case you’ve never heard of Games with Gold, Microsoft has been running this initiative where Xbox Live Gold subscribers receive one or two free games a month to keep forever as long as they download within the month, or half-month. We’ll start off with the Xbox One’s offering.

Xbox Games with Gold
Starting December 1st (and ending December 31st), Xbox One Gold subscribers will be able to download and play Worms Battlegrounds for free. As the old adage says, “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it”, and that applies wholeheartedly here with Battlegrounds adopting the age-old 2D, turn-based combat that saw the franchise rise to prominence in the first place. Battlegrounds will be the only game that Xbox One owners get through December, so make sure you get your money’s worth.

For the Xbox 360, you will be eligible to download The Raven: Legacy of a Master Thief from December 1st to the 15th. Set in the 1960’s, The Raven employs an adventure, puzzle gameplay that has become a rarity in the current gaming era, but has been well received on the multiple platforms it has been released on.

And to close out December for Xbox 360 Gold subscribers is SSX (available from Dec 16th-31st). The SSX series is one of the best recognised in the arcade, snow sports genre, and lets you play in snow fields from all over the world.

So there you have it, the last Games with Gold for the year. Let us know how you’re finding the Games with Gold program so far – we’ve love to hear from you in the comments.
