Microsoft celebrates Xbox One’s anniversary by making Sunset Overdrive free for 24 hours

Sunset Overdrive is arguably the Xbox One’s best exclusive title this year, but even if that isn’t true, it definitely is one of the more bombastic. Combining open world exploration with ridiculous weapons and an art style to die for, Sunset Overdrive has gotten some pretty rave reviews since its release last month. Which makes it all the more interesting that Microsoft is making Sunset Overdrive free for 24 hours to Xbox Live Gold members as a token of goodwill and celebrate the Xbox One’s one year anniversary.

If that’s got your attention, Sunset Overdrive will be downloadable and playable from Saturday, November 22nd, 12:01am. Best of all, this is the whole game experience which means that if you purchase the game once this window is closed, you will still retain your save game and be able to continue your progress. Of course, this does mean that you have a pretty hefty download ahead of you, but what is internet data these days anyway? It’s been a pretty interesting year for the Xbox One, starting off slowly, but the situation has improved in recent months and with fantastic exclusives like Sunset Overdrive starting to appear, better times should be ahead for the next year.

Sunset Overdrive was released on October 28th for Xbox One only.
