New NBA 2K15 trailer coins the term ‘Yakkem’

The NBA 2K series has stood head and shoulders above the competition when it comes to basketball simulation games for years now and their annual offering, NBA 2K15, is about to release, looking pretty snazzy in its first full trailer. Check it out below:

Showing snippets of ESPN favourites, Ernie Johnson and the original Superman, Shaquille O’Neal, the video also delves into some delicious looking gameplay with character models bordering on uncanny. Whether the dynamic duo will feature just in pre- and post-game analyses of the game, or throughout it as well, remains to be seen. The game also focuses much of its snippets on cover athlete, last year’s MVP, Kevin Durant of the Oklahoma City Thunder.

The NBA 2K series goes through intense scrutiny every year, partly because they are so far ahead of their direct competitor, the NBA Live series by EA Sports, and partly because the game is already so good that there is so little to improve with every iteration. With the inclusion of Ernie and Shaq, however, NBA 2K15 might just have that new spark that will send the series to even more dizzying heights. Yakkem!

NBA 2K15 releases on October 7th for PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One and PC.
