Ubisoft announces Assassin’s Creed Rogue, a last-gen console romp that questions your ‘Creed’

If there’s one thing that’s for sure, playing an Assassin’s Creed game will often require the killing of Templars, the Assassin’s sworn enemy. But what if an Assassin goes rogue? That’s the premise of Assassin’s Creed Rogue, Ubisoft‘s latest game in the franchise that will explore the line where an Assassin crosses over to the Templars. Check out the announcement trailer below:

The protagonist in Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be Shay, who in the trailer has hunted down a fellow Assassin to the Arctic Circle to kill him. The game appears to be set the closest to the present than any of the previous Assassin’s Creed games, partly evidenced by Shay’s shotgun, and the fact that Shay hails from the streets of New York where you will be able to traverse in the game. For those who have been wondering whether the franchise would ever touch the subject of converting over to the Templars, or as Shay calls it “following his own creed”, this is the game you’ve been waiting for. Is Assassin’s Creed Rogue going to be on your wishlist come November 11th? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.

Assassin’s Creed Rogue will be released on November 11th, 2014, on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3.
