Evolve cleans up, wins ‘Best of Show’ at E3 2014

This year’s E3 was widely considered one of the better ones in recent memory, with game line-ups for both next-gen consoles maturing nicely, and even the Wii-U chiming in with some inspired Nintendo magic. While the show was amazing overall, it wouldn’t be a games convention without awards to take home, and the votes of 29 media outlets for the E3 game awards are finally in. Taking home the most elusive of the prize, the ‘Best of Show’ at E3 2014 award, is Evolve, a fantastic looking title that is being developed by Turtle Rock, the same bunch who worked on cult favourite game, Left 4 Dead. In fact, Evolve managed to take home quite a few more awards, including ‘Best Console Game’, ‘Best Action Game’, and ‘Best Online Multiplayer’. That of course isn’t to take away the achievements of the other games featured in the awards, all of which you can check out below:

Best Action/Adventure Game – Batman: Arkham Knight (Rocksteady/WBIE for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

Best Role Playing Game – Dragon Age: Inquisition (BioWare/EA for PC, PS3, PS4, Xbox 360, Xbox One)

Best Fighting Game – Super Smash Bros. for Wii U(Sora/Namco-Bandai/Nintendo for Wii U)

Best Racing Game – The Crew (Ivory Tower/Reflections/Ubisoft for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One)

Best Strategy Game – Civilisation: Beyond Earth (Firaxis/2K Games for Linux, OSX, PC)
